Go After Opportunities

Excerpts from Push and Take Back the Borders by Uyoyou C. Charles-Iyoha

Though Canaan (the land which God took the Israelites to) is a geographical location of milk and honey coupled with freedom from slavery in the land of Egypt, Canaan also symbolizes divine opportunities. To get to Canaan, the Israelites undertook a journey that involved crossing a sea and wilderness coupled with fighting existing inhabitants of Canaan to take over Canaan. One of the prerequisites for their success was learning to depend on God for their daily provision and security. This however may not be the case for some of us today as Canaan may have different connotations ranging from job security, financial security, home ownership, spiritual growth, identification and accomplishment of divine purpose, being a parent, career development and a host of others. However, whatever your Canaan is, be rest assured that you will get there irrespective of whatever challenges dog your path.
This is because God created you a front-line general to do exploits for Him and reign in your God given borders.  You therefore have no business running after other front line generals who are already reigning in their God given borders while the enemy encroaches on your God given borders.  It is time for you to move from being a backside lieutenant to a front line general, lead the battle, and take full possession of your God given borders some of which may be controlled by the enemy. You can take over all such territory effortlessly with the power and presence of God. However, you must come back to your position so that the fire of God has to return to your eyes.  God did not call you to be mincemeat for the enemy. It is time to overcome, throw out the enemy and encroach on his territory as well.
You, whoever you are, whatever your circumstances are and no matter how long the challenges have stayed can push back the very limiting borders of mediocrity and obscurity to those of excellence where abundance and influence lie through daily increasing the quality of the work that you do. Therefore, take a quality decision today to possess your Canaan. You are the only one who can step out of all the shadows of oppression, intimidation and backwardness that the enemy forced you into through intimidation into God’s special position for your life.  Therefore; rise up to your full potential in Christ Jesus by improving on your relationship with God to recover power, the power to excel and prevail over every machinations of the enemy. Empowered by God, you will be energized to pursue, overtake and recover all.  All you need to do is believe God for the impossible and break every barrier and limitation on your path. Both Daniel and Joseph are classic examples.
I dare to say that you have entered the season of rising up and walking for you to take full responsibility for your life. There is no more time to wait for thirty eight years at the pool of Siloam like the man Jesus described in John Chapter 5 verses 1 to 15.
For years you have acted like the man by the pool waiting for someone to put him in the moving water. Jesus is saying to you now as you read , ‘I am the moving water and the water is always moving, so you no longer have to wait for the water to move, and significantly so, you do not need anyone to put you in the water. All you need is to reach out to me through the WORD and the storm ceases. You have wasted so much time waiting that you need to fly now. Ask God for speed to cover lost ground. Therefore, stop waiting for the water to stir.  Rather, get up, pick up your mat, walk a short distance and fly the rest of the way. There is so much ground to cover.
The man was ill for thirty eight years.  Though the ailment is not stated, he apparently enjoyed the state of inaction because he kept giving excuses. I have absolutely no idea what challenges confront you and have limited you from taking possession of your Canaan. Beloved, arise from the mental inaction bordering on mental paralysis. Refuse to be like the man at the pool for even when Jesus asked him, ‘will you be made whole?’  Rather than say yes, he gave excuses. Jesus saw through his mental disability and healed him.
