Extraordinary people are
ordinary people performing ordinary tasks in an extraordinary way. It is the
daily ordinary tasks, the tasks people take for granted that ordinary people
pay special attention to and improvise that become extraordinary activities
that make us call ordinary people geniuses.
You can become
extraordinary by processing the ordinary into the extraordinary. I always talk
and write about the Late Sam Walton of blessed memory. Sam Walton set out to
build a store, a regular store that everyone else had but Sam Walton decided to
make his store a very customer friendly store. Customers kept returning and the
store grew bigger and bigger until another store was required and yet another store
was required until what started in a small town became a global enterprise, in
fact one of the most successful global enterprises on the face of the earth. As
Walmart Stores expanded, customer friendly practices improved and are still
being improved upon. There is certainly no limit to their growth in spite of
the fact that Sam Walton left this earth a long time ago. Why is that? The group
has cultivated, maintain and do sustain at all times a culture of customer
friendliness that keeps drawing customers to them.
Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook
based on what he saw on campus. Today, Facebook appears to be a platform
imported from the stratosphere whereas it was thought out by an observant and
attentive Mark who observed how students interacted with each other on the same
campus and outside their campuses, what they desired to see and hear as well as
what they wanted to know. Before then, there were other social media sites. But
Mark went ahead and developed Facebook; taking the ordinary to the
extraordinary by including additional features. Today, Facebook ranks as one of
the most patronized and visited social network because a Harvard Sophomore paid
attention and diligently took social interactions online and created space for
people to interact globally irrespective of geographical and time barriers.
Extraordinary people are
always making money – strategizing on how to make more money, how to turn the
seemingly ordinary into an extraordinary money making activity, event, talent,
service, product, etc. They think – do the thinking while others do the work. Extraordinary
people see what other people do not see. They see money in what many people
consider waste. In essence, they see wealth in waste, challenges and seeming
insurmountable problems. They also grow money at all times and even when they
spend money, they are spending money on what will yield more money.
Extraordinary people
develop their relationships and partnerships around money making opportunities
and access to what they need/want.
Till I come your way
again, make the most of what you have to become extraordinary. Shalom
