Do Not Allow Fear to Limit You

Written by Uyoyou C. Charles-Iyoha

Fear immobilized the army of Israel and Goliath had a field day. The army of God who had marched out to battle against the Philistines could not proceed to actual battle as they cowered in fear of Goliath’s threats for forty days. They were stuck in a rut and could not make progress until God intervened in the situation through David who challenged Goliath. The boldness God gave to David was what ended the oppression and lack of progress because God also energized, emboldened and empowered David to kill Goliath. The moment Goliath (the fear causing agent of the devil) was killed, the Israelites rose against the Philistines and the battle was in their favor as the Philistines were routed and destroyed. There was therefore no need for fear but because they gave in to fear, the devil used that fear as a quicksand to halt progress for forty days and who knows how many more years if God had not intervened through David who showed up. Beloved, kill and destroy the quicksand of fear in your life through absolute faith in God to deliver you. When you believe that God is always for you and that all power belongs to Him, you will always be bold which explains why the Bible says that the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Why Does the Enemy Use Fear?

To  give the impression that he is powerful, therefore has an edge over you but the truth is that you are the one who actually has an edge over him because greater is He that is in you – the King of kings and Lord of lords to whom the enemy is subject and has no power.

The enemy uses fear to keep you immobilized and hinder you from making progress. Fear has a way of making a person rooted to a spot, unable to act, to think of a solution and to even look up to God.

To rob you of faith, the presence of God and of course divine solutions.

To drive you to wrong actions, utterances, relationships that will make you sin against God so that you lose God’s covering, favor and protection. Lot fathered children by his daughters because of fear.

Why You Should Not Be Afraid

God is your father and He is always there for you.

God will never fail you. He will come right on time and shame your enemies.

Finally, look at these scriptures and draw strength from the great and mighty things God did for His people in times past (Zechariah Chapter 8 verses 13b, 15, Joshua Chapter 1 verse 9, Jeremia Chapter 29 verses 10 to 14, Isaiah Chapter 44 verses 1 to 8, 43 verses 1 to 5, 41 verses 8 to 20).

Till I come your way again, shalom.
