Intangible assets are your knowledge resources, expertise,
skills, talents, wisdom, understanding, military prowess, divinely generated
money making ideas, excellent communication skills, etc.
Please see the following Scriptures for a deeper
understanding of wisdom - Proverbs
Chapters 24 verses 2 to 4, 14, 8; 9 verses 1 to 11, Ecclesiastes Chapters 11
verse 10; 7 verses 11 to 12, 19; 2 verse 21, 9 verse 16.
Joseph interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh with his
God given ability which you may call wisdom or knowledge or understanding but
it is a divine deposit of intangible assets which gave him the number two
position in the land and of course a mouth watering salary, perks and other
privileges.
The Bible records that Daniel was gifted in
understanding all sorts of visions and dreams (Daniel Chapter 1 verse 17).
Consequently, he went to the King and requested time to tell the King the dream
and the interpretation of the dream. Significantly, Daniel did not rely on the
intangible assets of knowledge and skill in all literature that God gave him,
or the understanding of all sorts of visions and dreams. Daniel humbly went to
God for the answers and he co-opted his three friends. As they humbly asked God
for mercies, God revealed the dream and its interpretation to Daniel and when
it was told to the King, Daniel was promoted as ruler over the whole province
of Babylon as well as Chief Administrator over all the wise men of Babylon. He
was also given many great gifts. Please see Daniel Chapter 2 verses 47 to 49).
He also interpreted the handwriting on the wall and
was made the third ruler in the kingdom. Daniel’s career as an astute administrator
and leader soared as he became the number two person in the kingdom all because
he utilized his intangible assets to advantage (Proverbs Chapter 22 verse 29).
He stood before kings and earned good income. But what is very strategic and
instructive about Daniel is that he always sought answers from God and ALWAYS
returned the glory to God. He never attributed his success to the divine gifts
of intangible assets that God blessed him with.
David was a skillful musician, a mighty man of
valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, a handsome person and the LORD was with
him. Though he minded the family flock in the wilderness, unknown and unsung,
the Bible records that he came into the service of King Saul as a musician on
the basis of this recommendation. It is also significant to note that King Saul
was suffering from severe depression so it was not a question of just great
music but spirit lifting music by the Spirit of the Lord. David achieved great
success in this area and was speedily promoted to be Saul’s armor bearer. Please
see 1st Samuel 16 verses 13 to 23. Not quite long, David added
another feather to his cap by killing Goliath who terrorized the army of God
for forty days and forty nights. David became a national hero. He prayerfully
utilized the intangible asset of mighty man of valor and man of war (which
translates into military prowess). Thereafter, his career soared as a man of
war – the Bible records that he amassed great wealth from tributes and spoils
of war. (2nd Samuel Chapter 8, 1st Chronicles Chapter 18,
20 verses 1 to 2).
Jephthah was a mighty man of valor whose intangible
asset was military prowess. Additionally, Jephthah possessed great negotiating
skills and used both to advantage when the leaders of Gilead and elders of
Israel required his services against Ammon that had come up against Israel.
Jephthah negotiated the number one leadership position of his people and of
course the attendant benefits of such a position which includes financial resources.
He led a successful military campaign against Ammon and became the leader of
Gilead and Israel.
Ezra the Priest is described as a teaching priest,
an expert in the words of the commandments of God and His statutes to Israel.
This constituted his intangible assets (his knowledge and understanding of the
word of God coupled with his obedience to the word of God as well as his God
given ability to teach the word of God to the people of Israel so that they
would understand and do the word of God. This intangible asset stood him out as
King Cyrus selected him to lead the people of Israel back to Jerusalem to
rebuild the temple, and to receive the resources for the rebuilding of the
temple.
Beloved, you can monetize your intangible assets by
converting them into financially tradable formats.
