How to Turn Intangible Assets into Financial Resources

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Intangible assets are your knowledge resources, expertise, skills, talents, wisdom, understanding, military prowess, divinely generated money making ideas, excellent communication skills, etc.

Please see the following Scriptures for a deeper understanding of wisdom -  Proverbs Chapters 24 verses 2 to 4, 14, 8; 9 verses 1 to 11, Ecclesiastes Chapters 11 verse 10; 7 verses 11 to 12, 19; 2 verse 21, 9 verse 16.

Joseph interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh with his God given ability which you may call wisdom or knowledge or understanding but it is a divine deposit of intangible assets which gave him the number two position in the land and of course a mouth watering salary, perks and other privileges.

The Bible records that Daniel was gifted in understanding all sorts of visions and dreams (Daniel Chapter 1 verse 17). Consequently, he went to the King and requested time to tell the King the dream and the interpretation of the dream. Significantly, Daniel did not rely on the intangible assets of knowledge and skill in all literature that God gave him, or the understanding of all sorts of visions and dreams. Daniel humbly went to God for the answers and he co-opted his three friends. As they humbly asked God for mercies, God revealed the dream and its interpretation to Daniel and when it was told to the King, Daniel was promoted as ruler over the whole province of Babylon as well as Chief Administrator over all the wise men of Babylon. He was also given many great gifts. Please see Daniel Chapter 2 verses 47 to 49).

How to Turn Liabilities into Assets

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

A liability can become an asset if you know what to do. A liability is something written off as having no value because it cannot generate any value. Cars and electronics that have outlived their usefulness become liabilities if you do not discard them to get new ones. This is because the cost of servicing them can actually procure new ones.

Sarah had passed the age of childbearing and was written off as barren. She had also concluded that it was impossible for her to bear children so she gave her Egyptian maid to her husband Abraham to raise children for her. But unknown to Sarah, God had a better, best plan for her as He Who created her knew how best to rejuvenate her supposedly dead womb (Romans Chapter 4 verses 17 to 21, Genesis Chapter 17 verses 15 to 19, 18 verses 10 to 15 and 21 verses 1 to 3). In the fullness of God’s timing for her life, she became a mother.

Elizabeth was also written off as barren but in the fullness of God’s timing and plans for her life, John the Baptist was born at an age when it was impossible for Elizabeth to bear children.

Beloved, God is still in the business of turning liabilities into assets and who knows, you might just be the next candidate to experience such a miracle from Him. Therefore, explore the possibility of making whatever you consider a liability or liabilities into assets with the Word of God. Please see Psalm 107 verses 35 to 38, Isaiah Chapters 41 verses 17 to 20, 61 verse 4, 55 verse 13, 58 verses 10 to 12, 35 verses 1 to 2, 6b to 8 and Amos Chapter 9 verse 14.

Give Yourself Permission to Prosper 2

Act: The army of Israel was immobilized for forty days and forty nights by fear on account of the boasts of Goliath. Fortunately, David showed up, took on Goliath and killed him. The army of Israel suddenly regained confidence, acted, chased the Philistines and plundered their tents. While David became a national hero and was handsomely rewarded by King Saul, the soldiers and the nation of Israel also benefitted materially and financially from the spoils of war. Please see 1st Samuel Chapter 17.

Isaac planted in famine and reaped a hundred fold and continued prospering. He did not sit in a spot or amongst complainers to lament the famine. He did something that mitigated the famine. He planted. Find something to do to come out of the present financial crisis you are experiencing. The God who blessed Isaac’s labor even at a time of famine will also bless the work of your hands in Jesus mighty name.

Give Yourself Permission to Prosper 1

Move: Refuse to be immobilized and rooted o a spot. The four lepers at the gate of Samaria moved from the city and gate of Samaria where there was famine to the camp of the Syrian army where there was abundance. Please see 2nd Kings Chapter 7 verses 3 to 9.

The four leprous men at the entrance of the gate at Samaria were probably beggars which explain why they sat at the gate to receive alms. But alms were not forthcoming because of the long siege by Ben-Hadad, King of Syria against Samaria. The siege resulted in a famine that made people eat up their children (2nd Kings Chapter 6 verses 24 to 33). Prices of food also skyrocketed. The King and people of Samaria were in a dilemma. When would the famine end? When and how would the siege end considering that they had no military might against Ben-Hadad? Besides inflation would continue to soar as long as the siege continued; and cannibalism would become the norm. Something had to be done and quickly too. The King threatened to kill Elisha and wondered why he should wait for God any longer when he was quite sure that the calamity was from God.
