Always Look at Value

Value is whatever brings positive additions to your life, enhances your brand and potentials for wealth and success. This implies that your associations, your knowledgebase, your assumed assets could be worthless if they have no value and do not attract any value. Even dresses worn by certain people attract value. Same goes for fashion accessories and even home accessories used by certain people.  Certain vintage cars also have value as their prices increase with the times. This makes it imperative for you, a creator of wealth to know and understand value so that you can always identify value, always seek value and entertain value. That way, you will always look at value. The Bible records in Genesis Chapter 13 verses 14 to 18 that Abraham lifted up his eyes as instructed by the Lord and he saw Canaan, the land of promise. Please see also Psalm 119 verse 37, verse 148 where David chose to look at the word of God. Job on the other chose not to look at what would make him lust after young women. Please see Job Chapter 31 verse 1.

Give Commercial Value to Your Imagination

Your imagination is one of your intangible assets. Intangible assets are the seeds of God in you for increase. They are meant to generate tangible assets. That is to say that you birth tangible assets with your intangible assets.

Your imagination can become a wealth plaza if the wildest runs of your imagination are properly harnessed to create wealth. Jacob was severally short changed by Laban. Rather than complain, murmur, grumble, wish Laban evil or even curse Laban in his heart or in the fields where he shepherded the flocks of Laban, steal from Laban; Jacob chose to put his imagination to very brilliant use. He collated the strings of ideas on how to come up with streaked animals out of non streaked animals, experimented and succeeded in growing a large number of animals that made him wealthy. Jacob gave commercial value to his imagination and created great wealth. He shared some of the wealth with his twin brother Esau and still had much. That gives an idea of how much wealth the positive use to which he put his imagination generated.

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Cities do not happen on hills by chance. They are deliberately, purposefully, consciously and strategically planted, built and set on hills for specific purposes or reasons ranging from protection, security, visibility, etc. whatever be the reason,  the import is that cities are set on hills purposefully and by choice.

A hill is a conspicuous, strategic and vantage location that gives visibility to both people below the hill and those on top of the hill. Those below see the city on the hill easily as opposed to other nearby cities on lowland. And for those on the hills, they can easily see intruders, predators, competition, enemies and have sufficient time to prepare to repel such attacks.

The essence of a product or service is to impact and bless people by adding value to their lives. And when people discover this, they will definitely seek the product or service. But if the product or service is buried in a hideout, an obscure, inaccessible terrain, how does the product get to the people? How do people access the product or service? Therein lies the wisdom of setting cities on hills so that they will not be hidden. Joseph was thrown into prison, hopefully to obscure him into oblivion so that his lights would stop shining. Joseph chose the path of making prison a hill. He shone his lights as brightly as prison allowed him and prison became a launch pad, a springboard to global limelight, relevance, significance and dominance.

Beloved, make the effort to shine your lights as brightly as God would have you shine them wherever God placed you to shine them. That way, you will leapfrog whatever limitations and barriers that the enemy attempts to place in your path. This is not to say that you should sit docile and passive; refuse to make conscious, deliberate purposeful efforts to build and plant on a hill for global visibility. It is your responsibility to do so but trust God.

Leverage Strengths and Opportunities

Your strengths constitute your competitive advantage; the divine edge you have over your competition. That is what separates you from the pack to give you advantages, edges, leverages, that you can always use to outbid and outshine your competition. Identify your strengths and the value of your strengths.

Opportunities on the other hand are platforms for you to showcase your strengths and be financially rewarded for your strengths. Opportunities could be created, identified or they could just come your way. Whichever, it is your responsibility to find them and take advantage of them.

The Apostle Paul took advantage of the interest shown him by the Epicureans and Stoic philosophers in Athens to preach the gospel. He was careful to refer to the inscription of the unknown God and centered his message on who God is and how God should be worshipped, Acts Chapter 17 verses 18 to 34. Make hay while the sun shines.

In Jesus’ discourse with the woman at the well in John Chapter 4, Jesus took advantage of the opportunity at the well to lead the woman to God. You can and should create a demand for your goods and services. After the woman found salvation, she became a powerful mouthpiece of the gospel that brought the men of Samaria to Jesus and consequently, the entire community to Jesus as they begged Jesus to stay with them.

In 2^nd Kings Chapter 4 verse 7, the widow of the indebted prophet was instructed to – “Go sell the oil”. Go and search for the people who need the oil and sell to them and even if you have identified the people, take the goods and services to them. Do not wait for them to come to you. As they see the products and you the seller, they will buy.

Organize Your Life to Wealth

Organize the pieces of your life together to get the whole God is creating, that whole that is filled with the glory of God. The organization should align with specificity of purpose to enable you focus on divine direction, have clarity to facilitate divinely backed implementation and achievement. Beloved, God is making something beautiful, outstanding, significant, relevant and honorable with your life. Do not give up or give in for you shall be called sought out, a desirable place. You are the City of God’s Delight. To be sought out refers to a place or person or something where people seek because there is something of value in it. The value in this case is the glory of God bestowed on you by God. What is glory? The dictionary refers to glory as praise and worship of God, fame, praise or honor given to somebody because they have achieved something important. It also refers to great beauty, special cause for pride, respect or pleasure. In the book of Haggai Chapter 2 verse 7, it refers to splendor.

God is taking you somewhere big and higher than anything you can ever imagine. It is the place of global recognition and visibility as well as financial Abundance - Isaiah Chapter 54 verses 1 to 5, Job Chapter 8 verse 7.  He is taking you to a land of prosperity, increase, expansion and fruitfulness. Please see Deuteronomy Chapter 28 verses 1 to 14. The promises in this Scripture are against the backdrop of the ones in Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verses 1 to 18, take note of verses and 7 to 9, For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass; and Deuteronomy Chapter 11 verses 8 to 13. A land that God Himself watches over at all times, waters at the right season and ensures a great harvest. See Psalm Chapter 65 verses 9 to 13, Psalms Chapters 1 and 23, Malachi Chapter 3 verses 10 to 12 and Leviticus Chapter 26 verse 5.

There is therefore no need to rush. All you need do is go at His pace, do things the way He would have you do them and trust Him to meet all the seeming pressing needs that bother you. The prophet Elisha gave this instruction to the widow of the indebted prophet “Go (move, act) sell the oil, pay your debts and live on rest”. She was advised by the prophet Elisha to solve the financial crisis first and then manage what she had left so that she would not go into debt again. Always go at the pace of the Holy Spirit for that is when you get it right. Never allow yourself to be stampeded by any one or circumstances. Haste often produces wrong decisions, actions and counsel.

Therefore work with available resources to move from point A to B even if your present available resources  include the Word of God, prayers, faith, prophetic utterances, what you may consider of little value but is indeed of great value. The woman had what she thought and referred to as only a jar of oil. She had no inkling of the economic value and that it could be all she required to get out of debt.

Be Proactive

The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary of English defines proactive as “a person or policy controlling a situation by making things happen rather than waiting for things to happen and then reacting  to them. You can be proactive in the following areas:

Time and Timing – What you do with time either enriches or impoverishes you. Time invested in productive action translates to money and other resources that should be wisely managed to generate wealth. Time should not be frittered in idle chatter or sleep. At every point in time, time should be invested.

}  Of what value is time to you? What do you do with time? Please see Genesis Chapter 8 verse 22, 24 verse 11b, Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 verses 1 to 8, 11, 17 Proverbs Chapter 10 verse 5, 30 verse 25, Zechariah Chapter 10 verse 1 for how people took advantage of time and invested time.  Spend quality time with God to receive favor and divine ideas; and in your business to know and understand the business.

}  Planning; one of the ways to plan is budgeting (Luke Chapter 14 verses 28 to 32, Matthew Chapter 25 verses 1 to 13). A budget is a financial plan, a road map that helps you manage your income and expenses.

}  Call to action – The servant of Abraham who went to procure a wife for Isaac applied this principle. He made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well. Please see Genesis Chapter 24 verses 11a, 16 to 20.  Joseph also did same when he asked Pharaoh and his court to search for a discerning person that would manage the surplus of the seven years for plentiful harvests to safeguard the impending famine. Please see Genesis Chapter 41 verses 32 to 42. Daniel approached the King to request for more time. The allied army of Israel, Judah and Edom going for war ran out of water in the desert, a wrong place to look for water. Their primary aim was to not to look for water in the desert. It was to fight the Moabites. But water became a challenge. They then went to see the Prophet Elisha who instructed them to make the valley full of ditches despite the fact there was no water in sight. They obeyed and made the valley full of ditches and had water. Please see 2^nd Kings Chapter 3 verse 16.

Find the Money 1

Money is a tool for implementing some aspects of divine purposes and not a tool for elevating status, becoming proud, obnoxious, oppressive and rude.  

Why do you need to find the money?

}  Money pays your bills. Goodwill does not.

}  Therefore, work for money and not goodwill. 

}  Making money is not a sin.

}  The Bible condemns the love of money, greed and mammon worship, fraudulent means of making money.

How to Find the Money

Engage in a financially rewarding activity:

}  Produce something of value – the virtuous woman, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Nabal.

}  Sell something – Lydia, the widow of the indebted prophet.

}  Provide a service – David, Joseph, Daniel, Jacob, Moses, the Apostles

}  Partnerships – King Solomon, Apostle Paul, the Virtuous woman

}  Multiple income streams – King Solomon, the virtuous woman, Jehoshaphat, Job

How to Turn Liabilities into Assets

A liability can become an asset if you know what to do. A liability is something written off as having no value because it cannot generate any value. Cars and electronics that have outlived their usefulness become liabilities if you do not discard them to get new ones. This is because the cost of servicing them can actually procure new ones.

Sarah had passed the age of childbearing and was written off as barren. She had also concluded that it was impossible for her to bear children so she gave her Egyptian maid to her husband Abraham to raise children for her. But unknown to Sarah, God had a better, best plan for her as He Who created her knew how best to rejuvenate her supposedly dead womb (Romans Chapter 4 verses 17 to 21, Genesis Chapter 17 verses 15 to 19, 18 verses 10 to 15 and 21 verses 1 to 3). In the fullness of God’s timing for her life, she became a mother.

Elizabeth was also written off as barren but in the fullness of God’s timing and plans for her life, John the Baptist was born at an age when it was impossible for Elizabeth to bear children.

Beloved, God is still in the business of turning liabilities into assets and who knows, you might just be the next candidate to experience such a miracle from Him. Therefore, explore the possibility of making whatever you consider a liability or liabilities into assets with the Word of God.
