Roll Away the Stone of Poverty

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.  Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been [dead] four days.John Chapter 11 verses 38 to 39.

Lazarus is an abstraction for the name Eliezer meaning God has helped. This means that instant help at all times from God was available to Lazarus yet he fell sick, died and was buried because Jesus Christ did not show up when Lazarus was sick. Eventually, Jesus arrived and was taken to the tomb where Lazarus lay almost beginning to rot. The stone covering the tomb blocked entrance into the tomb therefore no one could access Lazarus. Jesus then ordered that the stone should be rolled away.  The stone constituted a blockade. Until the stone was removed, Jesus could not intervene and when the stone was removed at the command of Jesus Christ, Jesus intervened. The stone was blocking Lazarus’ exit from the tomb which explains why Jesus commanded the stone to be rolled away.

Beloved, this implies that open gates grant access to miracles. Miracles of course differ but for this article, the focus is on the miracle of abundant wealth to people who hitherto had never known or accessed wealth. Please see Isaiah Chapter 60 verses 11 to 13 for an understanding of how open gates translates to the transference of wealth. Wealth cannot be transferred if the gates that the wealth will pass through are barricaded by a stumbling stone. Stumbling stones may not necessarily be physical. They could be spiritual and mental or either.

Unbelief and doubt can constitute great stumbling blocks to wealth if they are not rolled away like the stone at the tomb. This is because unbelief makes people doubt the word of God and therefore disobey God’s instructions to make wealth. Additionally unbelief denies people the precious presence of the Holy Spirit Who helps people make wealth by directing them on what to do with regards to who to associate with and where to be or go to in order to make wealth. In Luke Chapter 1 verse 45, the Bible records that the word of God to Mary was performed because she believed. The performance of God’s word and His promises on abundant wealth is therefore a function of your belief. To roll away the stone of poverty, whether generational or not, it is your responsibility to drop the filthy garments of unbelief so that your faith can become stronger.
Hopelessness is also a stone that should be rolled away by anyone attempting to make wealth. Please see Luke Chapter 1 verse 37. Therefore be hopeful at all times. Please see Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 4. Hope fortifies faith, therefore when hope is dead, faith dies. God used Ezekiel to deal with the situation of hopelessness in the valley of dry bones. The very dry bones represented the utter hopelessness of a nation. After the bones were revived by the word of God prophesied by Ezekiel, they became a great army on their feet. In like manner, a person’s hope rekindled by the word of God and the sure promises of God guarantees success in the journey to divine wealth. Therefore, roll away the stone of hopelessness.

Fear can also constitute a great obstacle to the creation and management of wealth if not rolled away. The enemy uses fear to paralyze creativity, a much required ingredient for success. Please see 1st John Chapter 4 verse 18 and 2nd Timothy Chapter 1 verse 7 on how to deal with fear. Therefore, roll away this evil stone that immobilizes to hinder from making progress.

Another stone that should be rolled away is the stone of inferiority complex. This is usually a poor estimation of oneself that culminates in poor or low self esteem and absolute lack of confidence in one’s abilities. Therefore have a right estimation of yourself like the Biblical Caleb and Joshua. Believe in yourself that you can do it and ask God for help. God will help you with all the procurement processes required to make your business or career succeed. Do not be like the other ten spies and the Israelites who had a wrong estimation of themselves and missed out on entering the Promised Land. Please see Numbers Chapter 13 and also Proverbs Chapter 27. Be confident and do what you have to do confidently.

Bitterness and unforgiveness can constitute barricades to wealth. These are extremely heavy spiritual weights that have the capacity to slow you down so that so that it takes forever to make quality decisions regarding wealth. Please see Mark Chapter 11 verse 25 and Hebrews Chapter 12 verse 15.

Another major stone that should be rolled away is the stone of idolatry. Idolatry differs in forms and practice. For instance, turning to people for direction, advice and emotional comfort instead of God constitutes idolatry because ultimately, you may begin to worship the people who give you direction even when the direction they give you is contrary to the word of God. Also putting your trust in material acquisitions and wealth at the expense of obedience to God is also idolatry. Additionally, putting trust in your physical beauty, strength, good health and uncommon intellect can be idolatrous if you do not return the glory to God and serve God with those divine qualities.

Beloved, God desires to give you great wealth. However, you must remove these satanic blockades and oppositions.
