The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous
God who has great plans for us in Christ - eternal and glorious plans they are!
- will have you put together and on your feet for good. 1st
Peter Chapter 5 verse 10.
God still
settles His people and He will settle you in Jesus mighty name. To settle means
to give rest, put an end to a matter, dispute, issue, disagreement, bring you
to a point of rest. To be settled means that wars must cease in your life. Please
see Joshua Chapter 23 verse 1. Because God had given Joshua rest, Joshua aged
gracefully. Only God can bring about rest for anyone because God knows how to
make wars to cease. Please see Psalm 46 verses 9 to 10, Deuteronomy Chapter 8
verses 7 to 10.
One can enter
into rest financially, maritally, medically, etc. God demonstrates divine
settlement through divine surplus. God wants to take you to a position of
divine surplus. There is a breakthrough coming to you that is intended to
settle you. In 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7, the Bible records
that God settled the widow of the indebted prophet. The yoke of financial poverty
and indebtedness was destroyed in her life. She was settled financially and her
sons were free of debt slavery.
Though Naomi
suffered losses in Moab – she lost her husband and her two sons, God settled
her through Ruth. However, it is instructive that Naomi took a great quality
decision to return to her roots. That singular action brought about restoration
and divine settlement for both Naomi and Ruth. Please read the entire book of
Ruth for greater insight.
Beloved, this
implies that one of the keys to divine settlement is to return to your roots,
your first love, God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If you do this
sincerely, God will sort you out, open your eyes of understanding to where you
missed it and help you make amends that will bring about the restoration and
the settlement. The widow of the indebted prophet also returned to God by
crying to the prophet Elisha for a solution.
Secondly, commitment is crucial to receiving divine settlement. Ruth was committed to Naomi despite the fact that Naomi had nothing to offer. Ruth’s commitment to Naomi endeared Ruth to both Boaz and other members of the family who spoke nicely about Ruth. As you seek restoration and divine settlement, be first committed to God who has the master plan for your life. He will show you what to do and how to get there in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
God expects believers
to be strong in the face of adversity. Adversity or suffering most often
precedes settlement though that is not always the case. Believers can be strong
in the face adversity by being strengthened in their inner minds. Please see
Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 9 to 10. The Biblical King David persevered in the face
of great adversity. Pursued and hunted by King Saul though he had already being
anointed by God, David persevered and consistently turned to God for help. In the
end, he succeeded Saul as King. Also though completely exhausted, David sought
God when he discovered that his stronghold, Ziklag had been burnt down and the
entire inhabitants taken captive. Despite attempts by his trusted men to stone
him, David stayed strong, consulted God and pursued the culprits and
significantly recovered everyone and other resources taken captive.
Perseverance in
the place of prayers is also a key to restoration and divine settlement. In the
face of great persecution, the early Church persevered in the place of prayers.
If you can, read through the book of Acts and I believe you will also receive
divine strength to persevere in the place of prayers. Please see also Ephesians
Chapter 6 verse 18. Nehemiah and Ezra are also leaders who persevered in the face
of prayers and were able to overcome fierce opposition to rebuilding Jerusalem.
Please read both books of Nehemiah and Ezra for great insight into how Sanballat
and Tobiah were silenced, and how those opposed to the rebuilding of the temple
were humiliated.
Endure to the
end. Matthew Chapter 24 verse 13, Proverbs Chapter 24 verse 10.
Trust God to deal
with the opposition and give you rest in His own way. Please see Psalm 94 verse
13, Hebrews Chapter 4 verse 9. This is to say that you deploy divine resources
against those who are opposed to the plans and purposes of God for your life.
Please see 1st Kings Chapter 5 verse 4. And God will make the adversaries
and evil occurrences to cease. Please see 2nd Samuel Chapter 3 verse
1. As David fought back against Saul and his house, David grew stronger while
Saul’s house became weaker. Please read also how God saved the Jews from annihilation
and gave them rest in the book of Esther.
