Seed Time and Harvest

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

It is always God’s design that we receive a harvest and usually the harvest is often more than the seed planted. Genesis Chapter 8 verse 22, Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 verse 2, Philippians Chapter 4 verses 14 to 19, Galatians Chapter 6 verse 9. It is not a one way traffic of just giving but a two way traffic of giving and receiving. Please see Mark Chapter 4 verses 26 to 29 and Hebrews Chapter 4.

A major prerequisite of abundant harvests is planting of seeds. Seeds differ. A fertile soil is another major prerequisite for abundant harvests. The seed must also be quality seed. There is a relationship between water and abundant harvests. Water is one of the ingredients for nourishment and growth – Ezekiel Chapter 17 verses 5 to 8, 19 verse 10, Jeremiah Chapter 17 verse 8, Psalm 1 verse 3, Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verse 7, 11 verses 10 to 15, Leviticus Chapter 26 verses 4 to 5, 9 to 10, Job Chapter 14 verses 7 to 9, Psalm 68 verses 8 to 9, 104 verses 13 to 17, Numbers Chapter 24 verses 6 to 7. Patience is required for the seed to go through the processes required for the abundant harvests to come. Every planting begets harvests albeit abundant harvests. Please see Luke Chapter 6 verse 38, Genesis Chapter 49, Isaiah Chapter 22, Isaiah Chapter 35 verses 6 to 7, 41 verses 17 to 20, 43 verses 19 to 20, 44 verses 1 to 4, 32 verse 20, Ecclesiastes Chapter 11 verse 1. Other Scriptures on abundant harvests – Psalms 147 verses 8 to 9, 126 verses 5 to 6, 107 verses 35 to 38, 92 verses 12 to 15, 85 verse 12, 65 verses 9 to 13, 67 verses 5 to 6, 72 verse 8.

Sowing is an eternal law, a spiritual law. There is a harvest that awaits everyone sowing – Genesis Chapter 8 verse 22. It is a clear violation of the law if someone sows much and receives little. You must receive as you sow. There is nothing wrong with the word of God. There must be a corresponding harvest to every seed sown. Consider your ways if you are sowing much and reaping a little. A self appraisal is necessary if harvests do not correspond to giving – is there anything in your conduct that is hindering your harvests such as unforgiveness, animosity, grudges, negative confessions, laziness (do not give a lazy person your seed, that is a bad soil). God recorded great harvests from the single seed of Jesus Christ. Therefore, learn to harvest. Please see Isaiah Chapter 41 verse 15.  The threshing sledge is a new mouth with which you will crush and uproot every opposition in your pathway so you can bring in your harvests. You must have faith in your seed, that the seed will produce a harvest. Please see Luke Chapter 6 verse 38, Hebrews Chapter 11 verse 6 and Mark Chapter 11 verse 24.

Maintain an attitude of praise. Psalm 103 verses 1 to 5, Psalm 67, 1st Thessalonians Chapter 5 verse 16, Psalm 34 verse 1..  Praise is a declaration of God’s worthiness. Please see Psalm 8. It is also a weapon of warfare. Paul and Silas praised God and they were released from prison. Praise creates a vacuum for God to occupy. God inhabits the praises of His people. Please see Psalm 22 verse 3. Worship on other hand is a declaration of who God is. Please see John Chapter 4 verse 24– Exodus Chapter 9 verses 1 to 4.

It is not your business to know how the seeds will fruit to abundant harvest. Your business is to trust God after faithfully sowing your seed. Therefore, stop looking at God whether He will do His own. God is faithful and will not fail. He is therefore always acting His part. The onus is on you to play your part. Please see Job Chapters 14 verse 14; 13 verse 15; 19 verses 24 to 26; 23 verse 10; 42 verses 10 to 17. Job stood to see his harvests. Stand and see your harvests. Reap the bountiful harvest of your fruitful labor because it is the will of God for you to eat the labor of your hands – Psalm 128 verses 1 to 4, Isaiah Chapter 65 verses 21b, Acts Chapter 14 verse 17.
