Look Beyond the Challenges

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Challenges are a constant reality of life. Most times, they come unannounced, throwing one off balance. But when they are properly scrutinized and processed, they become stepping stones. Therefore, do not panic, do not be afraid, and do not be intimidated. You can reign over any circumstance. God wants you to be on top of it. There is no room for docile, impassive and indifferent people. Every gazelle knows that it has to outrun the fastest lion in order not to be used for breakfast and every lion knows that it has to rise early enough to outrun the fastest gazelle in order to have breakfast.

The diligent make use of everything they find. Jesus Christ preached from a mountain top, used Peter’s boat and also taught in the synagogues owned and administered by the same Pharisees and Sadducees who opposed Him and sought to kill him. Please Matthew Chapter 4 verse 23, 5 verse 1, Luke Chapter 5 verses 1 to 3, and Proverbs Chapter 12 verse 27.  Jesus, the Son of the great I AM WHO I AM, says to you today, I AM ALL you need to come out of any situation that challenges you. I alone can give you the strength, the capacities, the wealth, the affluence that you require to overrule that situation. Please see how He did it for King David of Israel in Psalm 18.
The virtuous woman also had her fair share of challenges but she looked beyond whatever challenges assailed her in her quest to create wealth and comfort. Her home became a factory, a garment production factory that gave birth to a vineyard because she saved up money from her tailoring enterprise to buy a vineyard. This industrious woman used her home as a business place, a wealth generating premises. She did not complain about the absence of a shop. She delivered her products to merchants who sold them beyond the shores of her home, town and country. Please see Proverbs Chapter 31 verses 10 to 31.

The widow of the indebted prophet identified a challenge. The family had urgent financial challenges that required immediate financial attention. Please see 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7. Her home was the factory where the goods were produced and after production, they were shipped out for sale. The woman also realized that Elisha was a mentor. She approached him for solutions to the challenges. This suggests that there is always a lesson to be learnt in every situation and there is always someone to learn from. Do not be too proud to ask help, seek for information and learn. If you follow successful people, you will definitely become successful. It is a matter of time. Who you know determines who knows you therefore NETWORK. Big ideas attract big people. You can borrow somebody’s credibility and use it as a launchpad.

Some people have assets while others have liabilities. An academic degree can become a limitation if it does not help you open your eyes. Identify your talent – there is a gift/talent in you. Take an inventory of yourself; an honest and sincere assessment of yourself and then plan within the context of available resources.  There is a secret to every business. Therefore, seek support when the need arises. Nobody is self sufficient. Please see John Chapter 19 verse 38. Finally, always acknowledge your humanity. Direct the hard questions to God as there are some things that are beyond human knowledge. Please see Matthew Chapter 27 verse 46, Jeremiah Chapter 33, 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7.
