Find the Money 2

Be Proactive

The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary of English defines proactive as “a person or policy controlling a situation by making things happen rather than waiting for things to happen and then reacting  to them. You can be proactive in the following areas:

Time and Timing – What you do with time either enriches or impoverishes you. Time invested in productive action translates to money and other resources that should be wisely managed to generate wealth. Time should not be frittered in idle chatter or sleep. At every point in time, time should be invested.

}  Of what value is time to you? What do you do with time? Please see Genesis Chapter 8 verse 22, 24 verse 11b, Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 verses 1 to 8, 11, 17 Proverbs Chapter 10 verse 5, 30 verse 25, Zechariah Chapter 10 verse 1 for how people took advantage of time and invested time.  Spend quality time with God to receive favor and divine ideas; and in your business to know and understand the business.

}  Planning; one of the ways to plan is budgeting (Luke Chapter 14 verses 28 to 32, Matthew Chapter 25 verses 1 to 13). A budget is a financial plan, a road map that helps you manage your income and expenses.

}  Call to action – The servant of Abraham who went to procure a wife for Isaac applied this principle. He made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well. Please see Genesis Chapter 24 verses 11a, 16 to 20.  Joseph also did same when he asked Pharaoh and his court to search for a discerning person that would manage the surplus of the seven years for plentiful harvests to safeguard the impending famine. Please see Genesis Chapter 41 verses 32 to 42. Daniel approached the King to request for more time. The allied army of Israel, Judah and Edom going for war ran out of water in the desert, a wrong place to look for water. Their primary aim was to not to look for water in the desert. It was to fight the Moabites. But water became a challenge. They then went to see the Prophet Elisha who instructed them to make the valley full of ditches despite the fact there was no water in sight. They obeyed and made the valley full of ditches and had water. Please see 2nd Kings Chapter 3 verse 16.

Be Innovative

}  Creativity, introducing or using new ideas, ways of doing something. Be inventive – think up new and interesting ideas – think up, create/do new things.

}  That is where proactivity, innovation alongside productivity comes in and of course protect your invention and be appreciative of them, first to God and yourself.

}   The virtuous woman, Jacob, Joseph, King Solomon are Biblical examples of proactive people whose proactivity gave them an edge and money.

Be productive, that is making goods or growing crops especially in large quantities, doing or achieving a lot according. Jacob is a classic example. Therefore, aim to be productive in whatever you do so that you can make good money in 2017 and beyond in Jesus mighty name.

Be Protective

}  Treasure and secure your intellectual property – not for sharing with just anyone. They are assets. Shield your intellectual property. There are secrets in business you do not share. Trade secrets are not to be shared with just anyone. They should be guarded jealously and used for making profits to bless humanity.  Secure them by being discreet. Be careful who you share business information with – the widow was advised by the prophet to shut the door behind her while packaging the oil. When God gives you an idea guard it jealousy until you are in full control. Please see John Chapter 8 verse 22. When God gives you the secret to the business, then you can flourish in the business. But if you are ignorant, then you will struggle.

}  King Hezekiah was not. He opened up his wealth to the Babylonians and when they invaded Jerusalem, they carted away the wealth. Please see Isaiah Chapter 39.

Be Appreciative

}  Do not be like the young man devoid of understanding in Proverbs Chapter 24 verses 24 to 30 who left his vineyard to decay because he did not understand the worth of the vineyard and therefore left the vineyard to rot. He did not celebrate the gift of God in him and to him; did not appreciate it and left it to rot.

}  Lack of appreciation/ingratitude is different from knowing the value of as in the case of the widow of the indebted prophet who did not know the value of the jar of oil she had in the house which explains why she referred to it as only a jar of oil. Significantly Proverbs Chapter 27 verses 23 to 27 talks about knowing the value, defining and understanding your assets.

Additionally

}  Be determined to succeed like Jacob.

}  Be knowledgeable.

}  Exercise fiscal discipline.

}  Be known for financial integrity.

}  Be diligent like Joseph, Daniel, the Apostle Paul and the virtuous woman.

}  Be persistent like Isaac.

}  All of these are mental processes and they require mental discipline therefore free your mind of worries and anxieties and fears.

}  God will lift you up and give you the money in Jesus mighty name because He created you to make wealth. Please see Exodus Chapter 8 verse 18, 15 verse 6, 28 verse 12, 2nd Corinthians Chapter 8 verse 9, Proverbs Chapter 8 verses 17 to 21, 22 verse 4, John Chapter 3 verses 3 to 8, , 16, Malachi Chapter 3 verses 8 to 12.

Approaches
}  The fire prevention approach is excellent because it is proactive, anticipates situations through scenario plays and prepares for any eventuality. Please see Proverbs Chapter 21 verse 5. It is also thorough. Please see Proverbs Chapters 22 verse 29, 12 verse 24, 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7.

}  The fire fighting approach is not the best of approaches as it may lead to incurring debts, begging, insufficiency and sometimes you miss out on opportunities. It also brings about limitations and hindrances to money making.
